Gary Travis

Gary Travis is a Marine Corps combat veteran, active firefighter, husband, father, and founder of Guardian Grounds Homes, a supportive housing organization dedicated to helping veterans and individuals working toward stability and independence.

Following multiple deployments to Afghanistan, Gary continued his lifelong commitment to service through law enforcement and the fire service, where he currently serves his community as a firefighter in Northern California. Drawing on those experiences, he founded Guardian Grounds Homes to provide safe, affordable housing built on accountability, community, and personal growth. In less than a year, Guardian Grounds Homes expanded from one home to multiple locations, helping address the growing need for supportive housing while building partnerships with veteran service organizations, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and government agencies.

Gary believes service does not end when a uniform comes off—it evolves into creating opportunities for others to rebuild their lives and achieve long-term success.
