Anthony Groff

Anthony Groff is a highly accomplished leader at Highmark Health, bringing over 35 years of progressive experience in management, leadership, and operational excellence from both military and civilian sectors. His current role as Program Manager showcases his expertise in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, as he leads cross-functional initiatives impacting over 38,000 employees. He has spearheaded organizational transformations, served as a chief of staff providing data-driven insights to executive leadership, and successfully managed enterprise-wide working groups focused on 13 accreditations. Groff’s contributions extend to collaborating with patient experience teams and overseeing internal and external website management. Beyond his operational achievements, Groff’s significant impact lies in his role as Highmark Health's Enterprise Veteran lead. He develops and executes annual veteran engagement plans, reviews funding requests for veteran organizations, advises the Veterans Business Resources Group (BRG), and co-leads the Military Advisory Council. Highmark’s Veterans BRG showcases the unique talents of the military and veterans and promotes the professional development of team members. The Military Advisory Council strives to make Highmark a career destination for veterans. Groff partnered with Deb Rice-Johnson, CEO of Diversified Businesses for Highmark Inc. and Chief Growth Officer, to create the MAC. Groff’s commitment to veterans extends to fostering military-civilian partnerships, creating training opportunities for reserve medical personnel, and driving initiatives for veteran recruitment, retention, and development. This dedication is further evidenced by his co-chairmanship of the Pittsburgh Veterans Employer Coalition and his active participation in community outreach programs like Stand Down, Wreaths Across America, food drives with Veterans Leadership Programs, and Mutt Struts with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. He actively promotes inclusivity through initiatives such as biometric screenings for reserve and National Guard families on Family Days.
