Why you should attend?

UWF's, MVRC is indeed a "one-stop" shop, providing needed assistance to military and veteran students. UWF's MVRC utilizes many VA work-study students (veterans, spouses, and dependents) as peer mentors and transition coaches to serve fellow students; this allows veterans to help veterans. Led by an on-staff LCSW, the mentoring and tutoring program is robust and very successful. The program assists veterans with locating resources, guidance, and support during their transition back into civilian academia; this leads to a more positive mental well being for the student and the UWF staff. UWF's foundation has recruited donors to provide scholarships exceeding $20,000 annually dedicated to veterans, spouses and dependents; these scholarships are managed by and presented through UWF's MVRC.
