Tidewater Community College

Part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) serves South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and 7 regional centers. TCC is the second largest of the 23 Virginia community colleges, and the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads. TCC enrolled nearly 33,000 students in 2017-18, nearly one third of whom are military-related. The college had 3,711 graduates in 2017-2018, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that can transfer to 4-year institutions. TCC offers traditional, online, and hybrid instruction and is regionally accredited through 2027 by SACSCOC.

Why you should attend?

Located near the world's largest naval base and bases from all branches of the military, TCC serves active-duty and veteran students through its Center for Military and Veterans Education (CMVE). The CMVE has dedicated offices on all four TCC campuses and offers full-services on four major military installations. The CMVE has over 25 staff and 20 VA work-study students, most of whom are military-related, dedicated to increasing military student success and employability. In 2018, TCC served over 3,000 active duty and veteran students and awarded nearly 1 million dollars in academic credit for military experience and credit for prior learning.
