About Alamance Community College

Alamance Community College (ACC) was founded in 1958 as one of the first organized community colleges in North Carolina to provide an open door to high quality education and learning. The vision of Alamance Community College is to create a premier educational gateway to economic and cultural vitality. We have many programs to offer not found everywhere such as Animal Care, Biotechnology, Culinary Arts, Horticulture, Mechatronics, and Dental Assisting. Our mission is to provide the educational programs and services of a comprehensive community college that respond to diverse community needs and to empower lifelong learners to participate in a global society.

Why you should attend?

Alamance Community College is very dedicated to the academic empowerment of veterans, reservist, guardsmen, and active-duty members; as well as their spouses and dependents. ACC offers certificates, diplomas, and degrees in over 35 curriculum programs including Basic Law Enforcement Training. ACC employs a full time Veterans' Services Coordinator and Green Zone certified staff. We provide referral support and disability accommodations as needed, offer a food bank to veterans in need, and annually hosts a Veteran's Appreciation breakfast. We have military veteran parking spaces and a licensed counselor, from the Veteran's Center, available once a month for confidential counseling appointments.

Our school has instituted policies to address the concerns and needs of military spouses and their families. We've constructed our admissions, retention, career counseling, and mentoring programs to help alleviate the difficulties faced by military spouses. Our flexible learning options and degree continuation programs are designed to accommodate deployments and relocation.
