Maximize Your Military Friendly® Virtual Job Fair Experience

  • Each booth contains valuable information, including current job openings, career pages, and company videos.
  • Make sure your resume is uploaded to your profile before the event. You can check or update your profile by clicking “Profile” in the left navigation.

Tips:

  • Review the materials provided in the booth to get a sense of the company’s values, mission, and opportunities.
  • Jot down any questions you might have about specific roles or the organization to discuss with the rep.
Researching Jobs
  • Take time to explore the company’s website. Learn about their services, mission, and culture.
  • Look for dedicated veteran or military spouse career pages to see how they align with your background.

Tips:

  • Identify how your skills and experience could benefit the employer. Be ready to explain your value during the conversation.
  • Write down a few talking points or questions tailored to the company’s values or open positions.
  • Look up potential openings here on Military Friendly®, on LinkedIn, the company’s career page, Google Search or job boards.
  • Bring links or details about these positions to your conversation with the rep.

Tips:

  • Use keywords from the job description to guide your conversation.
  • Focus your search if you’re interested in remote work or specific locations.
  • Avoid asking vague questions like, “What jobs do you have for me?” Show that you’ve done your homework.
Search Jobs
Interview
  • Share the job openings you’ve researched with the employer rep.
  • The rep can give insights, next steps, and potentially help you secure an interview.

Tips:

  • Approach the conversation professionally. Use the job details to create a meaningful dialogue.
  • Be open to suggestions if the rep highlights additional roles you may qualify for.
  • Click the green button in the booth to initiate one-on-one conversations.
  • If reps are busy, you’ll be placed in a queue and connected automatically when it’s your turn.
  • You can request a video chat if preferred, but reps must approve it.

Tips:

  • Make a strong first impression by dressing professionally. While a suit isn’t necessary, avoid overly casual attire.
  • Be patient and respectful during your interaction.
