Why you should attend?
Grand Valley State University provides in-state tuition and waives application fees to anyone who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including National Guard and dependents. Our graduation rates are among the best of Michigan's public universities and several scholarships are available. Our Veterans Network provides support for veterans, active service members, and dependents in transitioning, progressing to degree completion, and continuing into rewarding post-military careers or on to graduate school. Our new Military and Veteran Resource Manager is the primary POC, overseeing the Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (P.A.V.E.) program, and more. The Laker Military Resource Center houses the manager, PAVE program, LAKER Vets (SVA affiliated organization) and provides a safe and inclusive environment for military-connected students to connect veterans with one another.
Top Degrees

A general program of biology at the introductory, basic level or a program in biology or the biological sciences that is undifferentiated as to title or content. Includes instruction in general biology and programs covering a variety of biological specializations.

A program that focuses on the comprehensive study of communication, and that spans the study of mass communication/media studies, old and new media technologies, social and political applications, and speech communication and rhetoric. Includes instruction in interpersonal, group, organizational, and intercultural communication; theories of communication; critical thinking, argumentation, and persuasion; written communication; printed, electronic, and digital media; rhetorical tradition and criticism; media, society, and culture; consequences and effects of mass media; media social science and criticism; and quantitative and qualitative methods of inquiry.

A program that focuses on computer theory, computing problems and solutions, and the design of computer systems and user interfaces from a scientific perspective. Includes instruction in the principles of computational science, computer development and programming, and applications to a variety of end-use situations.

A program that prepares individuals to perform the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control and public relations, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, basic crime prevention methods, weapon and equipment operation and maintenance, report preparation and other routine law enforcement responsibilities.

A program that generally prepares individuals in the knowledge, techniques and procedures for promoting health, providing care for sick, disabled, infirmed, or other individuals or groups. Includes instruction in the administration of medication and treatments, assisting a physician during treatments and examinations, Referring patients to physicians and other health care specialists, and planning education for health maintenance.

A general program that focuses on the scientific study of individual and collective behavior, the physical and environmental bases of behavior, and the analysis and treatment of behavior problems and disorders. Includes instruction in the principles of the various subfields of psychology, research methods, and psychological assessment and testing methods.
