Clark State College

Clark State has been a cornerstone of higher education in our community since 1962. Clark State serves student educational needs at four locations; Springfield, Beavercreek, Bellefontaine, Xenia. The College began as Springfield-Clark County Technical Education Program. In 1966, the name changed to Clark County Technical Institute and was chartered by the Ohio Board of Regents (OBR) as Ohio’s first technical college. In 1972, our name changed to Clark Technical College. In 1988, the OBR approved Clark Technical College status change to Clark State Community College. In 2021, with the addition of bachelor’s degrees, the name changed to Clark State College.

Why you should attend?

For several reasons, Clark State is an excellent choice for active-duty military and veterans. We are located in close proximity to Wright Patterson AFB and a National Guard base. We discount tuition for active-duty military and their spouse, and also participate in the Air Force GEM program. The GEM program helps Air Force personnel complete their degree/certificate online while deployed worldwide or reassigned outside of Ohio. Clark State has close to one hundred degrees and certificates for veterans to choose from that are eligible for veteran educational benefits.
