Deonty's direct impact on the community is immeasurable. He's provided countless hours of community service and support through local Veteran Service Organizations programming, which directly improved community member's lives. Restoring Veterans homes, helping with fundraisers to support our region's Veterans Home and cemetery needs, providing access to local Veteran resources on campus and in the community to those in need, and volunteering to help and educate the youth in his community are just a few of the events he's participated in or spearheaded. He's also been pivotal in keeping the Student Veterans Organization alive on his campus, and in turn has supported other Veterans and their family members, to include awarding scholarships to those in need. His role as a first responder and firefighter should speak for themselves, but he takes the role very seriously and puts his community members first, to ensure their safety and security are paramount. Additionally, Deonty worked hard to ensure there was funding for student Veterans to attend national conventions for leadership and professional development networking opportunities as well.
