Daniel R. Gallegos

As a political science teacher at Casper College, Mr. G, as his students affectionately call him, demonstrates the strong character and dedication to service that define this prestigious award. His commitment to his students extends beyond the classroom, where he not only teaches but actively participates in various committees and advises the Veterans Club and Native American Club. He also runs the Casper College Honors Program. Mr. G’s work has made a lasting impression on both our campus and our student body. This year, Mr. G’s contributions have been especially impactful for our veteran students. When the Veterans Club faced a challenging period due to significant staff changes, he stepped up as the club’s advisor. His leadership during this difficult time was nothing short of invaluable. He worked tirelessly to keep the club on track, maintaining communication between the college and the club’s members, ensuring that veterans continued to feel supported and connected on campus. Mr. G’s dedication to the well-being of our veteran and military-affiliated students goes beyond simply keeping the club running. He took the initiative to arrange a specialized training session and meetings for these students to help them better understand their benefits, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources necessary to succeed both academically and personally. His efforts have directly contributed to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for our veteran students. Through his work in various capacities, both in the classroom and in his advisory roles, Mr. G has proven himself to be a leader who truly embodies the values of service, community, and character. His unwavering commitment to making a difference, particularly for our veteran students, makes him an outstanding candidate for the 2025 Veteran of the Year Award.
