University of Maine, Farmington
The University of Maine at Farmington is a rural college that prides itself on a professional teacher’s degree. Along with fine arts and science, this college surrounds itself with numerous mountains that offer summer and winter activities. Established in 1864, UMF was and is the original college to be chartered in western Maine. With a student population of just under 2000. University of Maine, Farmington continues to look ahead at the growing market to identify the needs of its community, along with establishing a growing veteran community.

Why you should attend?
University of Maine, Farmington is positioned right in the middle of the town of Farmington Maine. The surrounding community allows veterans, both on and off campus to take part in the many programs that UMF offers. UMF hosts a lunch on every Veterans Day where both on and off-campus veterans join together in a way to say thank you for all the years of service. With a new dorm facility to house veterans on campus and a new lounge area, UMF looks to grow the veteran community not just on campus, but out into the UMF community.
