USC Sumter is proud to be a part of the larger University of South Carolina system. The System is made up of four regional campuses and four senior campuses. USC Sumter is located in the heart of the state, about 45 miles east of Columbia, South Carolina. It is the only campus is the system that began as a Clemson University campus and then later changed to a USC campus. USC Sumter confers two-year associate’s degrees and offers baccalaureate degree programs in business administration, elementary education, nursing, early childhood education, organizational leadership and interdisciplinary studies through Palmetto College.

Why you should attend?
USC Sumter welcomes all students, no matter their circumstance. However, because of our close proximity to Shaw Air Force Base and our large retiree and active duty population in the community, we have a wealth of knowledge we can share with potential students who are current military members. Our Base Education Center location is staffed with a military retiree who is trained specifically to assist active duty personnel with any education question they may have. He knows what their demands are and how best to suit their needs.
