The Community College of Rhode Island is the largest public, two-year, degree-granting college in New England. Awarded 2019 2-Year College of the Year by Education DIVE. The College provides a variety of career, technical, and academic programs at four main campuses in Warwick, Lincoln, Providence, and Newport. Courses are also offered at a satellite facility in Westerly. The College opened its doors in 1964 as the Rhode Island Junior College (RIJC). In 1980, the name changed from RIJC to the Community College of Rhode Island to reflect the true mission of the institution. Classes are offered both day and night as well as online and hybrid formats to facilitate success for traditional learners and adult learners alike.
