Washburn University

Washburn University is a veteran and military friendly campus that has earned the title of Purple Heart University. As a small community, Washburn has a huge heart that understands the challenges and needs that veterans and military students will need resources to overcome in order to academically succeed. Therefore, Washburn maintains a Military Success Center dedicated to supporting student veterans, military dependents, and current serving military students.

Washburn University is an excellent choice for military service members, veterans, and their dependents because of our commitment to the student as an individual with unique needs. Diversity and inclusion is taught, practiced, and reinforced across campus so that everyone has a mutual understanding and respect. Furthermore, we understand that these students have experienced unique experiences that will require unique resources for them to be successful on and off campus. Washburn University has a full time employee, Military Transitions Coordinator, staffing the Military Success Center to facilitate connecting military connected students and veterans with necessary resources.
