SUNY Maritime College (MC) offers undergraduate and graduate degrees’ & certificates in: Marine, mechanical, electric engineering and naval architecture, marine transportation, marine operations, international transportation and trade, maritime studies, marine environmental science, humanities and two graduate degrees: one in International Transportation Management and the other in Maritime and Naval Studies. # 1 in Military Friendly for technical schools, # 4 in Best for Vets, ranked top of public colleges 2019 for job placement and salaries rated by Payscale.com, Princeton Review graded Maritime among best in nation for job placement. 2021 US News and World Report ranked MC 28th in Nation Best for Vets. At Commencement, all Military and Veteran students receive A graduation medal to wear around their necks. MC Navy and Marine Corps NROTC program for all of New York City, & Marine Corps Enlisted Completion Program and Seaman to Admiral program. 70% of student body participate in the USCG License Naval Regiment. Veterans have free application, parking passes & more. President of N.Y. State Advisory Council for Military Education 2019 and 2020, a member of the Association of NROTC Colleges. A general program that focuses on the scientific study of the composition and behavior of the atmospheric envelopes surrounding the earth, the effect of earth's atmosphere on terrestrial weather, and related problems of environment and climate. Includes instruction in atmospheric chemistry and physics, atmospheric dynamics, climatology and climate change, weather simulation, weather forecasting, climate modeling and mathematical theory; and studies of specific phenomena such as clouds, weather systems, storms, and precipitation patterns.
