SUNY Ulster is a military friendly college dedicated to providing an affordable, accessible education to all and to preparing students to live and work in a global society. The college is located in the Hudson Valley Region, a rural area of upstate New York; ninety miles north of New York city and sixty miles south of Albany, New York's capital city. The majority of Ulster's students are from the Hudson Valley Region. Small class sizes provide opportunities for participation and direct communication with instructors.

Why you should attend?

SUNY Ulster offers quality education that is flexible to meet the Student Veteran needs. We offer more than 60 programs of study. Courses are available daytime, evenings, online, and on a full or part time basis. From admission and financial counseling to tutoring and career planning, we have experienced counselor's that will assist Student Veterans in determining what program best fits the academic and professional goals. We provide the knowledge and tools needed to be successful. Our Student Enrollment and Success Center includes a Veterans Coordinator to assist with all educational benefits and to provide resources and guidance on VA services and programs. We have an active Student Veterans Club and a Veterans Lounge for use by all student veterans and their dependents.

Our school has instituted policies to address the concerns and needs of military spouses and their families. We've constructed our admissions, retention, career counseling, and mentoring programs to help alleviate the difficulties faced by military spouses. Our flexible learning options and degree continuation programs are designed to accommodate deployments and relocation.
