About State University of New York Maritime College

SUNY Maritime College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following areas: Engineering (Marine and Mechanical, Electrical, and Facilities); Naval Architecture/ Marine Transportation/ Business Administration (minors in Ship Management, and Maritime & Port Security); Maritime Studies; Marine Environmental Science; Humanities; International Transportation and Trade; and two Master of Science degrees, one in International Transportation Management, and the other Maritime and Naval Studies. Each of the two may be taken online. Note: the Maritime and Naval Studies is only offered Online. Maritime Environmental Science, Humanities, International Transportation and Trade are taught in-classroom.

n addition to SUNY Maritime College (MC) receiving the top ranking in the nation, according to 2016 www.payscale.com, for job placement and mean alumni salaries, the 2016 Princeton Review graded MC among the best in the nation for job placement. MC developed a proactive community for veterans, veteran dependents, military-affiliated active duty, reservists, and National Guard members. In fact, the MC office of Veteran and Military Affairs was established in January 2016, reporting directly to the Dean for Student Affairs. MC hosts the NROTC for New York City colleges and universities. MC students who enter in Army and Air Force ROTC programs are accommodated and travel to their respected programs off campus. In 2016 MC was the #2 in the nation for Military Friendly schools.

Our school has instituted policies to address the concerns and needs of military spouses and their families. We've constructed our admissions, retention, career counseling, and mentoring programs to help alleviate the difficulties faced by military spouses. Our flexible learning options and degree continuation programs are designed to accommodate deployments and relocation.
