Eastern Kentucky University understands the military community is a microcosm of American society, reflecting unique elements among active and former servicemembers, spouses and children. Recognizing the valuable perspectives they bring to campus, EKU commits to seamless delivery of services and programming to create a sense of belonging, leading to higher positive outcomes in their transition, retention, graduation, and postgraduation success. Whether they are beginning, finishing, or advancing their education, EKU has the resident and online programs to meet students where they are so they can reach their fullest potential in the classroom and beyond.

Military Spouses

Eastern Kentucky University recognizes that military spouses and dependents serve as well and is committed to providing the same exceptional delivery of services and advocacy for these students as it does for its military service members and Veterans. In addition to providing services through its centralized Office of Military and Veteran Affairs, EKU offers eligible military spouses/dependents reduced and in-state tuition rates, as well as specific scholarship opportunities. Equally, EKU offers military spouses/dependents resources to assist them in achieving their academic goals as well as initiatives targeted towards facilitating support groups, counseling services, and events to foster camaraderie and networking opportunities.
