University of Colorado Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO

UCCS is home to more than 14,000 driven students, more than 800 experienced faculty members and more than 800 devoted staff members. On our awe-inspiring campus, we focus on providing an academically excellent environment at a value to students across the United States, and more than 80 nations. The experience our students gain at UCCS provides an incredible service to our community of Colorado Springs and the greater southern Colorado region as a whole, with UCCS contributing about $600 million each year in economic impact in El Paso County alone. UCCS continues to grow in new programs and facilities to provide students the best higher education experience possible.

Veteran Student Stats

Military Veterans

Nestled among five military installations, and in a community of over 90,000 veterans, UCCS is deeply committed to supporting our veterans, active-duty service members, and military families, and to making our campus a place where we can support those who have dedicated their lives to supporting our country. 28% of our student population is military-affiliated, and we strive to ensure they receive the support, respect, and care they need to thrive and graduate. The new HEROES Scholarship bridges the gap between the cost of attending UCCS and military tuition assistance for our students who are currently serving, making education accessible.

Military Spouses

We are dedicated to the 1500+ spouses and dependents at UCCS! Family members are included in all Veteran and Military events and are invited to participate in our TARGET: Success program which supports and empowers students through their transition to college. Our Student Success Coordinator works one on one with spouses and dependents to find scholarship opportunities, mentors, and networking events. Several dependents are employed in the McCord-Herbst Student Veteran Center through the VA Work Study program, providing customer service and distributing benefits information to our military-affiliated student population.
