Charleston Southern University (CSU) is a private Christian University located in North Charleston, South Carolina. CSU is the only Christian University located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. CSU sits on a beautiful 300 acre campus just off of I-26 with easy access to Joint Base Charleston. CSU is home to 16 NCAA Division 1 teams, over 4,000 students--with almost 700 being military connected.

Military Veterans

Charleston Southern University (CSU) is located near Joint Base Charleston AFB, Joint Base Naval Weapons Station, Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Naval Nuclear Prototype, and a short drive to U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston. CSU serves veterans and the military-connected in various ways, such as ensuring that our military students feel safe, seen, and supported to succeed. The CSU Veteran's Lounge is in the middle of our campus and provides veteran students with a place to study, relax, eat, and connect with fellow veteran students. Our Military Services team includes two School Certifying Officials who are on campus to assist veterans and military connected students with their VA educational benefits. Military Services hosts various events throughout the year, including a week-long event to honor Veterans during the week of Veteran's Day. CSU is a Purple-Heart University, and has recently been given the naming gift for a state of the art Veteran's Success Center.

Charleston Southern University (CSU) is an excellent choice for all military-connected students because we help with facilitating benefits that were transferred to dependents or awarded due to disability, such as CH.33T and CH35. CSU is proud of all our military-connected students, faculty, and staff, and we display through showing gratitude for all who have served and the spouses and other dependents who made sacrifices for the betterment of our country.
