Mountain Empire Community College

Mountain Empire Community College is one of twenty-three community colleges operating under the jurisdiction of the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges. MECC was established in 1972. We are an open entry institution. Our mission is to provide quality higher education and workforce training programs and services that are financially and geographically accessible and meet individual, business, and community needs.

Why you should attend?

Mountain Empire Community College provides quality educational opportunities for all students. Military students as with all students, are provided with a number of support services, including, but not limited to, tutoring, technology assistance, career and transfer counseling, cultural opportunities, intramurals, fitness activities, and opportunities for students to engage with their peers through college-led student activities. Military students, their spouses, and families, may also participate in the Student Veterans of America Organization, a college-supported organization that provides peer support and mentoring for veterans and their families.
