Graduation-header-2

Mchenry County College

McHenry County College is a public, 2-year institution in the Chicagoland region of NE Illinois. Offering 28 Applied Science (career) degrees, 58 certificates, and several transfer degrees for university study, there is something for everyone, whether you’ve got it all figured out or are still figuring it out. MCC works closely with local employers so that our students leave with the skills employers are looking for. Students also graduate and transfer with confidence. In fact, students who transfer to Illinois universities do so just as well or better than those who start there.

Why you should attend?

Support within the MCC community and in the surrounding local community abounds for student veterans. McHenry County has generously funded book and laptop scholarships for student veterans. The student veterans repay this generosity by volunteering locally. We have a Student Veterans Resource Center equipped with computers, snacks, and opportunities to connect with fellow student veterans. In 2016, MCC faculty received a grant to create a Learning Community course crossing two disciplines designed for student veterans. The Learning Community focuses on the transition from soldier to civilian. MCC staff and faculty seek to engage the whole student with wraparound support services such as free tutoring, success coaching, and advising.
