Lake Area Technical College

Established in 1965, Lake Area Technical College is one of four post-secondary technical colleges in South Dakota. Nationally recognized as the #1 two-year community college in the nation by the Aspen Institute in March 2017, Lake Area Tech offers 30 programs of interest, many of which are also offered as e-degrees. Our modern campus sits on 40 acres in the family-friendly community of Watertown, SD. Recently classes began in our new healthcare facility that allows our health programs to be housed in closer proximity to each other. This expansion also allowed other programs in our existing facilities to expand.

Why you should attend?

We are grateful for the service of our military men and women! We appreciate their dedication to our nation and we are here to help them build on their military experience by continuing their education at Lake Area Tech. Our retention, graduation, and placement rates are among the highest in the nation with 99% of our graduates either employed, in the military, or continuing their education.
