Why you should attend?

Last years survey the office was called Veterans Student Services. The office has changed to "The Center for Veterans Student Success" (CVSS) due to a grant from the U.S Department of Education. The CVSS is committed to serving: Veterans, students of the Armed Forces of the United States ,and their dependents; the Kean community; and the surrounding community. This Center will accomplish this mission by providing exceptional services where the student is always first. The Center focuses on the transition from soldier to student. This is key part as without this focus veterans, service member and their dependent would not be successful. The services offered begin with a one on one regarding your academic career at Kean, to include transfer of credits, military credits, financial aid shopping guide, VA Educational Benefits, and Scholarships. The Center provides a network of services to include, advising, priority registration, mentoring, tutoring, student aid employment, VA Work-Study, counseling on campus by the VA VITAL (health care) and local Vets Center, VSO counselors. On campus Occupational and Physical Therapy clinics, 3D fabrication labs to foster research, adaptive sports to include bowling, yoga, hiking, kayaking, personal training. In addition, the CVSS includes a Veterans Resource Lounge which includes the following stations: work, entertainment, food, relaxation, exercise and skill building. The Center also offers internships and career placement to prepare for job readiness. The Center utilizes a single service model where you go to one office to take care of all issues and concerns. Majority of services are performed by veterans. Please note you do not need to be enrolled to receive these services as we are committed to servicing veterans within the community.
