The Cincinnati Fire Department embodies all the core values of our veterans. As a paramilitary organization, the CFD provides a sense of purpose and community service along with a rank structure, chain of command, uniform discipline and a sense of brotherhood. We operate 26 stations strategically situated throughout the city, housing 26 Engine companies- 12 Truck companies- 2 Heavy Rescue units- and 12 Medic Units. The department has a large number of active firefighters serving with the National Guard and Reserve. The CFD is striving to become a national leader in veteran support and outreach programs.
