Located in the picturesque Iowa Great Lakes Region, Iowa Lakes offers several locations throughout a five-county service area: Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer and Spirit Lake. You can take classes either full time or part time; days, evenings or weekends; via television, fiber optics or with a professor in the classroom; and via the Internet with online courses. You can also choose college transfer, career and technical courses, one class at a time, or continuing education classes.Customized training is specifically designed for area businesses and industry. Training can be provided at the business or at Iowa Lakes. Why you should attend?

In the past several years we have garnered many awards and established several programs recognizing our military and veteran friendly programs: We were awarded two high-level ESGR awards to include the state-level Above & Beyond Award and SecDef's Freedom Award nomination, the top public sector pick for the state of Iowa to receive this award. We just received recognition as "Top Veteran Friendly"...1 of just 3 community colleges in the nation to receive this award. We were awarded the Governor's "Certified Higher Education Military Partner" status. We garnered four American Legion Scholarships, totaling $2,000. We established two Veteran Centers on our main campuses, a Peer/Staff Mentorship program, and 2 S.C.O.s, high-visibility Veteran's Webpage. Finally, we offer 4 Military and American Legion Scholarships totaling $2,000.

A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to the flying and/or navigation of commercial passenger and cargo, agricultural, public service, corporate and rescue fixed wing aircraft. Includes instruction in principles of aircraft design and performance, aircraft flight systems and controls, flight crew operations and procedures, radio communications, navigation procedures and systems, airways safety and traffic regulations, and governmental rules and regulations pertaining to piloting aircraft. Programs may qualify individuals to sit for the FAA commercial and airline aircrew examinations.
