Cameron University has enjoyed a special relationship with the military dating back to World War I when our students volunteered to defend our country. Today CU provides leadership training for cadets hoping to become commissioned officers, and assistance to students who are active duty military, veterans, or who are members of military families. Cameron offers nearly 50 majors through certificates, two-year, four-year, and graduate programs in a variety of online and traditional course formats. With an 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, students receive individual attention from experts in their field of study. Cameron has been designated a Purple Heart University.

Cameron offers an outstanding low cost, academic education in a veteran friendly environment. Servicemembers and veterans experience personalized service from three experienced (42 years total) staff members. Cameron innovatively offers multiple events on campus and at Fort Sill. Our bi-annual two day Veterans Resource Fairs feature dozens of veteran service providers and bi-annual Vet Fest incorporated Fort Sill partnerships, multiple museums and community collaborations. Our VetSuccess on Campus counselor partners with CU staff to provide transitional, personal, and financial counseling, plus geographic career marketability assessments and employment assistance. CU Student Veterans of America chapter and ROTC program are outstanding.
