Why you should attend?
Appalachian State University's faculty and staff are committed to the success of student veterans. This dedication begins during students' transition from service to education and lasts through graduation and into the workforce. Appalachian's number of enrolled veterans has more than doubled in the past five years, from 227 in 2014 to 484 in fall 2019. The Student Veteran Services and the Major General Edward M. Reeder Jr. Student Veteran Resource Center enhance student programming, administration and outreach. The university also has a strong Student Veterans Association and offers in-state tuition without residency requirements for some recently discharged service members and military-affiliated students.
