Established in 1917 when Alaska was still a territory, UAF is America's northernmost Land, Sea and Space Grant institution. We offer 146 degrees and 31 certificates in 111 disciplines, ranging from associate degrees to Ph.D.s. Nearly 9,000 students take our classes. Our reach extends across the entire state through our rural campuses, research stations and public service offices. Why you should attend?

You can serve your country without sacrificing your education. We offer class times and locations to accommodate busy work schedules, plus an ever-expanding selection of e-learning courses. Designated staff members in campus offices will help you move between the military and academic environments. UAF offers degrees, such as homeland security and emergency management, that are tailored to students with military backgrounds. If you're an active-duty service member or a veteran, you pay resident tuition, which at UAF is a great deal. And you can get credit for military training and national proficiency exams.
